Hello, everyone! I just stumbled across this forum while looking for information about the ACNL, and since you all looked nice, decided to stay.

OK, the general run-down. I'm Erin, from the US. I'm a grown-up kid who has been playing around in AC since the original GC version (and still pop in there from time to time). I live in a rural area, so don't always have the ability to go out and about meeting other players, but there's still a lot to be done on your own, right?

It's just my orange beastie of a cat (that's his picture in my avvie) and myself at home, so most of my hobbies are a little singular - reading (I'm an incurable bookworm!), writing (short fantasy novels, mostly, although some short stories and poetry), knitting, counted cross-stitch (I love doing fandom-based little pieces), and my newest interest - fencing. I just started that this past September, but it's a lot of fun!

I'm sure there's lots more, but I've never been great at these threads, so if there's something you'd like to know, please ask! I'm looking forward to meeting new people and chatting about the various games, as well as other topics.

Hi Erin, here's my obligatory reply to Introductions:

GLAD YOU'RE HERE, please send fruit.

Hehe, I was kidding about the last bit! Which literary works are your inspirations when you're writing? Whoa... nice cat! 8)

oath2order: Thank you!

ben_nyc: Thanks! My first novel, the inspirations were three authors I'd read when I was growing up - C.S. Lewis (Narnia), Terry Brooks (Shannara), and Tolkien. The second, which I'm editing now, is part of the same series, but the inspiration was the fairy tale "The Waters of Life". I'll start working on the third in November (I participate in NaNoWriMo, have you heard of it?), and it's still anyone's guess what that will be about. I have some general ideas that I'd like to explore, but the fun thing about NaNo is that you are working so quickly to get the words down that the characters really take on minds of their own and write their own stories. Right now, I'm thinking about either a story about the wizards or the merfolk, but the dwarves are also clamoring for attention, so we'll see. :)

Yes, Blaze is a good boy. He's going to be 18 in August and is definitely spoiled!

Jake.: Thank you. The nicest person here? I'll remember that when I run into trouble and need someone to help dig me out! ;)

Erin, I've read Tolkien's works & was gifted a set of Brooks' collective publications- though I haven't jumped on them yet. Narnia, wells, I saw the films but am aware that the literary versions are considered classics.

I've never been to NaNoWriMo! I'm going to explore it today; thanks for your post & good luck w/ the editing! Ooo, & give Blaze a neck squeeze for me!
