Erik decided to call me "Prof. Pie." I let him, though I hated it. It's been at least three weeks, and all the other animals are STILL coming up to me, asking me if they can call me that. I keep saying no, but I want this stupid name to go away! I guess I have to wait until Erik decides he wants to name me something else. The lesson is, don't let one call you something if you don't want others to yammer on about it!

I made that mistake with "faboo". Every single day someone new asks to call me that. I wish I had never said yes in the first place. I'm trying desperately to get one of the other names to catch on!

i only let my normals decide my nicknames. i love to be called sweet pastries.

(seriously tho... pumpkin is adorable)

Haha, I do find it interesting the nicknames they come up with. Most of them don't make much sense, like one of my villagers suggested they nickname me "mountain" and I was like, eh it seems kinda silly for a name, but sure why not? And while it did sound weird for the first day or so, after a week of it spreading around, It's kind of grown on me now... 😄 I think it's cute

I accidentally let phoebe call me "BACKBEAT" bro.. what... 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 Thankfully, everyone else asked if they could call me that too, so I declined. I'm "skippy" for everyone else atm!

Probably motor, I usually let them call me by whatever nicknames so I ended up with Fuchsia giving me the nickname motor twice.
Most nicknames I've been given so far have been cute, like cupcake.
Moe started calling me wonder bud and I think it's adorable.

Well, Astrid wanted to call me "hun" once... and I let her, not realizing both crankies I had at the time would ask to call me the same thing.
I, uh... let them.

Thankfully Rodney pulled through for me and suggested "rutabaga" before things got too out of hand

I've let a few other characters give me names that I only let THEM call me- Merry called me "superstar" for a bit, but no one else could (even if they asked).

The fact that they'll often let you suggest a nickname if you say no REALLY helps. My in-game name is Cat, and most of my villagers call me "kit-kat" right now, which I prefer over most of what they suggest.

I’ve never had them let me pick when I reject them calling me some existing name. I am superstar from Audie and I let everyone call me that.

I keep getting called Vitamin U. Pashmina still calls me U-o-rino. That was the first name any of the villagers gave me. I'd like have my old name back.

At first Lyman started calling me Maximus, but luckily it changed to Vitamin L which I let all the villagers who want call me that.

Teddy asked to call me goalie and its been haunting me ever since. thankfully, no one has asked to call me it yet but im growing more weary by the day.

Oh man, I've lived through both Goalie and Backbeat. Neither were favorites. They don't ask about nicknames very often--I feel like my villagers cycle through catchphrases so quickly in comparison. The nicknames really stick around. It's worth the guilt of turning them down when they suggest bad ones.

I've definitely turned down the "Vitamin" suggestion. I've told them they cannot call me "Subscriber"--Peppy suggestions tend to be really insulting--but I did enjoy "Cupcake".

I haven't heard a good nickname from mine yet, so just say sure each time they want to change it

Muffy suggested a terrible one that I rejected, can't remember what it was (scrolling through the comments here it was probably backbeat because I definitely remember that it was back something). But I agreed to let my villagers call me 'reverb' and 'butterbean' (at least I think it's butterbean? It's butter something) even though I don't like these either since I was sick of being called 'lollipop' and 'superstar'. Idk what reverb even means. I miss my NL nickname which was 'genius' :(

Renée called me highway which is so strange. Where did that come from and why?

The current nickname that's spreading like a wildfire is puddin'. So it sounds like they're from the south or something.
