The Money Rock Trick

I use the Money Rock trick a lot. In fact, I do that almost every day I play New Leaf. I usually take money from there, and save up to repay a loan or make a Public Works project. Does anyone else happen to do the Money Rock trick?

what exactly is the trick about it? I know about the rock you can hit each day to get bells, but what's the secret trick otherwise?
