I just recently beat "The Last of Us" and WOW! And I really mean WOW! That game was just excellent. The story was absolutely brilliant. The characters were relatable and genuine. The gameplay had a perfectly balanced difficulty curve. The zombies, or should I say the infected, were as terrifying as they were beautiful. The way the characters moved and the way they portrayed emotions was incredibly well done and spot on. The way they built up all the fear and tension throughout the story was beautifully done, and the weapons actually seemed, and even felt, dangerous! It was a touch of perfection. Way to go NaughtyDog!

I know I can't be the only person out there whose played this game, so tell me your opinions, PlayStation players! Did you like "The Last of Us" or not? Why or why not? I'm extremely curious to see your feelings towards it! Feel free to post certain themes or elements or moments in the game that really made you say "Holy ****!!" or "God dammit..." If you catch my drift of course ;D

I loved the ending, kinda screwed everyone else, but it's not a choice you can really fault Joel for.

being a Naughty Dog game, I knew it was gonna look good visually, didn't disappoint.

Stealth segments involving the infected were pretty tense, mostly due to how terrifying clickers were with their insta-kill ability.

Oh god the Clickers! Those things were worse than the Bloaters! They were fast and, like you said, had that insta-kill ability! They were terrifying!

i want it soooo badly. when i move i'm going to the nearest best buy and buying it, i don't even care that i have to save my college money, haha. i need this game.

I want it very desperately too! I was following it basically from the day it was announced at E3, but then through some unfortunate events, I lost posession of my PS3 and can't afford to buy another one. Ah well. I'll get it eventually. :p

Oh my god I'm so sorry :( I do hope you get the money to afford one soon! I work at a GameStop so if there are any sort of "secret deals" going on I will let you know :)

Definitely one of the best games I've ever played. The game definitely surpassed the hype.

If you think about the ending, no matter what, a cure/vaccination wouldn't have done anything. It could have only delayed the inevitable. The parasite adapts and evolves, as you can see through the different stages. Plus, it's hard to make a vaccination for a parasite. They could have only helped a few people. Those infected were already screwed. The government was messed, so there couldn't have been any way to spread the vaccine worldwide. He made the choice to save Ellie. That's a good choice.

My brother had an review copy and I was watching him play it, It is really awesome!
and the Clickers, they gave me nightmares!

I personally think the game was over hyped. It had stereotypical female characters who only died (well at least most of them) to further develop Joel's character. I won't deny that it was a decent story and scary enemies, but that's about it. I am glad I got it, but it wasn't the best game I have ever played.

I don't think any of the female characters could be seen as stereotypical. Unless that word means strong, decisive, and independent character, then yea, they're stereotypical, but that's not a bad thing. The intro wasn't stereotypical at all, either.

Winter definitely had me on edge for a while, especially because what happened in Fall. While I applaud Joel for saving her, I can't help but wonder if they're doomed anyways. Maybe I was just tired, but it looked like the infection had changed in the closing scenes a little. I look forward to the next game, I expect it from Naughty Dog at this point.

i haven't played much of it because of animal crossing and work, but i love it. i hope i can finish it soon! the clickers are crazy xD

100% agree; Talish, what other SP storyline involving a male lead do you think surpasses TLoU & is LESS stereotypical of the female characters? I can consider 2x very well-done female oriented gaming experiences but they may not be a fair comparison. They are: Bioshock- Infinity & latest Tomb Raider.

Anyways, TLoU totally smashed my expectations. Excellent writing, very good 3rd person mechanics & UI + inventory system, a nice assortment of weapons & gear, industry leading voice acting & mocap, & the graphics + sound design are also quite impressive. My only minor complaint is on Survivor difficulties, the Save system can be problematic in some areas.

After beating TLoU, I felt like I never needed to play another game again. I was emotionally drained & very satisfied to have finished such a "complete" interactive experience. Of course, this lasted a day as I wanted to acquire all the trophy challenges Naughty Dog coded in. To anyone interested, there is an exploit where after finishing the game Once, you can Effectively unlock Survivor + (New Game + difficulties are Only supposed to unlock AFTER beating the game in THAT difficulty); to which completing the game in Survivor + (this is quite hard, took me 10 hours & lots of restarts) you'll be given EVERY difficulty trophy in ADDITION to their + counterpart!

Hence, my 2x playthroughs:

First playthrough: Normal (trophy earned)
Second ": Survivor + (trophy earned & then followed by, see below...)

=Easy, Easy +, Normal +, Hard, Hard +, Survivor, & a trophy that requires you to finish the game in EVERY + difficulty- UNLOCKED! Quite awesome!

I haven't jumped on multiplayer yet, if anyone wants to go tandem, send me a PM! Enjoy this stellar game, everyone! ^_^

Hrm, Mewzy, are you bothered by motion sickness? I don't know, perhaps the violence? Unsurprising there as TLoU is realistically graphic. Do other games bother you this way?

I've heard sooo many good things about this game, I desperately want to buy it, hopefully I'll manage to get it soon.

My brother played it, and it looked absolutely amazing. I watched every moment of his gameplay (as much as I love Naughty Dog's 3rd person games, I can't play them to save my life) and the graphics and writing were fantastic. Uncharted 4 should be coming out this year for the PS4, and this game is a great way to spend time if you're waiting.

I love the game. It had a really good storyline and the character development was very enjoyable. Some people seem to have issues with this game, because it's more like a movie than it is a game, but so what? I really enjoyed it :)
