I read the engraving.

"Wonder why someone threw it away."

I set it down on the table. "... Does it even matter anymore..? Humans are fickle."

"How did it go?" I say as she walks in.

I roll on the floor.

 

[Naiad]

".... Badly. They were banging."

 

[Beary]

"..Oh...."
I grimace.

 

[Naiad]

I glance at the muffins. "Got your appetite back?"

 

[Beary]

"Yes. And these are THE BEST MUFFINS. Ever."

 

[Naiad]

I stifle my laughter. "Good to hear that."

 

[Beary]

"I'll be right as rain by tomorrow. But more importantly..when are you going to get ahold of Faye?"

 

[Naiad]

"... I don't know. Hopefully, by tonight. I would've pushed for a set meeting, but I wasn't exactly in a good position."

 

[Beary]

"Uh...yeah.."

 

[Naiad]

(( how the heckie am I supposed to respond ))

"... Guess we need to throw one of the rules out the window."

 

[Beary]

I cough.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was irrelevant anyways after we..you know."

 

[Myst]

I watch the clock in between making drinks. My shift should be over soon... not to mention, I'll have to lock up for the night.

 

[Naiad]

"... Yeah." I sit down on the bed.

"I could always talk to Asher, but it just feels.... wrong to say things like that to him."

 

[Beary]

"Asher likes Faye, doesn't he?"

 

[Naiad]

"Yeah, probably. She likes him too."

I run my hand through my hair and sigh. "Goddamn separations always make things awkward."

 

[Beary]

"I understand that."

 

[Naiad]

"... What do we do now? They're not... quiet."

 

[Beary]

"We knock 'em out and separate them."
