I don't think 2012 is the end of earth nor humanity, it's the end of video games.
The next gen will be the final gen, if there is a new Sony and Microsoft system, it's safe to say the graphics will be even greater than before, at this point those games will cost up to 70$ each, Nintendo, will have of course be behind one step and will have 360 graphics and improved wi-fi, however, developer's will run out of ideas and graphics can't be improved anymore, the video game industry will just go stale, Sony and Microsoft will most definitely pull out of the industry, Nintendo might keep going because it's a step behind, but it's not likely, in 2012 no new games will be created, no new systems will be released, 90% of game companies will split up and go their seperate ways, and video games will be a thing of the past.
