Do you have some interesting facts you can tell? You can post them here when you learn something new that not too many people know about. Here are some rules:
And most of all, this is not a forum game. This is a discussion thread.
Now I'm here to share an interesting fact:
There has been no US presidential elections during daylight savings time.
- Do not spam this thread.
- Make sure that your facts are appropriate.
- Do not post anything personal on this thread. This includes you, your friends, or other people not well recognized.
- You don't have to show proof on all facts. It's optional, but must be put in a spoiler.
- No common facts. Penguins can't fly and cheetahs running 70 mph are examples, but facts such as ants not sleeping or snakes not having eyelids are acceptable to post here.
- Please do not tell facts about other people. Celebrities are fine, but not forum members.
- Do not tell facts about yourself. This isn't a personal information sharing thread.
And most of all, this is not a forum game. This is a discussion thread.
Now I'm here to share an interesting fact:
There has been no US presidential elections during daylight savings time.
- Election Day is not necessarily the first Tuesday of November, but it's always the first Tuesday of November after Nov 1. So if November 1st is a Tuesday, then November 8th is election day.
- Daylight Savings Time ends on the first Sunday of November. Therefore, the only possible date for Election Day to be during Daylight Savings Time is November 2nd.
- However, the last time Election Day was on November 2nd was in 2004. Back then, Daylight Savings Time ends on the last Sunday of October, not the first Sunday of November.
