the expensive item in nooks was cheaper than the other items?

so i went into nooks cranny and they're selling:
a den desk for 10,000 bells
a long bathtub for 7,800 bells
but in the expensive spot was a kotatsu for 3,700 bells

does this normally happen? because that's really weird and i'm confused

Hmm I could be wrong but I think it's because the kotatsu is a seasonal item? I have one in my shop today, too. How it's any different from the other seasonal items, I don't know.

This has happened to me once before. Thou I don't remember what item it was.

Like, it's really odd that they would do that. I wonder what classifies it as the expensive item if there are items that are more expensive but not in that spot.

My spotlight item was only around 4000 bells, and one of the regular items was almost 8k.

Sidenote: It's still hard for me to justify paying almost 200k for an item that was only about 1500 bells in other AC games. >..<

It happens sometimes. Some items are classified as expensive while others, which are more costly, are not despite their high prices. It would seem that the Nooklings sometimes have the same perspective as Wisp's when it comes to evaluating how expensive an item is.
