The end for WiFi for DS and Wii titles

Yeah, that's too bad. I don't have any Wii games that can connect to the internet anymore so it doesn't exactly affect me anymore but the Wii isn't that old - why are they ending wifi support for it?

It's really not that big of problem for me since most of the DS games I play don't require an internet connection (except Pokemon). I don't own a Wii so nothing's lost. Don't know why Nintendo's doing this though. smh

I think that Nintendo are doing this because the servers and online are free on Nintendo consoles and they cannot justify using their servers for Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS games from May 20th due to the fact that servers cost money to run and they don't make any money from hosting the servers.

So pretty much, they feel that the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games will be using the servers as the older games are quite a few generations ago and therefore are not justified to be online due to the newer games on Nintendo Network.

But then again, I am only taking an estimated guess at this.

I completely agree with Jason. Also I feel it is time to move on but I am annoyed that Acbay auctions is going to lose part of its function as it is also an auction site for wild world and city folk with a great reputation. Never the less I will continue to use all my DS games. Better download all those daily puzzles from ll games on Layton!!

I'll miss it. I know that online mode for Brawl is wreck, since most people don't play like their suppose to, but I love those people that bob up and down and taunt and I'm going to miss it. I know the SSB4 is coming out, but what will I do for the release gap?
