Grammar does have rules but those only really serve to give us some sort of uniformity and clarity of communication, if I say the word cat everyone knows exactly what that is. Words are added every year: selfie, woke, y'all- these are all examples of society on a mass level scale just deciding on a new word. The oxford comma is another great example of grammar going out of style because society decided it's use is null or even the use of whom versus who.)
