The Acquiring/Trading of the Rafflesia Plant

Yo, me again. So, it has come to my attention that the rafflesia plant only appears in towns with detrimental and polluted environments. It is said that these plants are often incredibly hard to get rid of as well. Here's what I am wondering: is there any possible way to obtain, relocate, or trade these flowers? I do love them so (not even just because vileplume is obviously based of this plant) because of how their natural design for pollination is. Not only that, but I think that in a goth or horror town, which mine will become over time, a plant that smells of rotting flesh would be lovely to have.

Is there any other way to obtain or otherwise dictate where the flower will appear other than letting my town look like a landfill?

I think they can be hard to get with only trash, buried or not. You'd probably have to get rid of quite a few trees as well to get that flower started.

Ah~ hm. Are they less picky once they're actually grown? I know you need a worst rating to keep them, but is it difficult to keep it at that with a lot of greenery? Weeds at least look okay, so if I was trying for a nice looking Worst town I'd keep the ones that spawn among the trees I'm allowed to have.

Edit: Oooh, and I could put gyroids deep within the tree groves. Spooky~

The only numbers I've read are in Liquefy's FAQ http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds/997811-animal-crossing-new-leaf/faqs/65246. He was able to plant quite a few trees and keep it around.

Hmmm, I'll have to check it out. I really want some rafflesia plants, but I don't want to destroy all my flowers/hard work. My flowers make most of my vague paths and I just made a crap-ton of hybrids. D: By the way, is there any way you can dictate where the rafflesia will grow or how many you have? Lastly, do they bring down your town rating? I have yet to get the gold watering can.

As far as I know, you can only have one Rafflesia is your town, it comes with having minimal flowers and trees along with quite a few weeds. I got the plant in my town after one day of having nothing but stumps, for fruit replanting, and 0 flowers or actual trees. Once you replant flowers and trees after a few days it will die. You cant have both a bad and good town.

Also, I'm not sure if you can decided where it plants other then resetting for it, much like you would villager house placements.

Aww, does it really die that easily? If so, that would be most unfortunate. Also, only being limited to only one plant would be rough. I wish I could have a patch or section filled with them. Planting gyroids in between them would also be kind of cool for giving off more of that "dead" vibe. Oh, well. If I can only have one and would have to destroy all my flowers to do it, I think I may have to rethink whether or not making one would be worth it. Just not fair that it looks so cool, ya know?

first of them , i dislike rafflesia .___.
second , that would be weird to trade with people for rafflesia , and yes its very hard to get it off your town but its not that hard , just place a pwp . and it would make sense if someone would have rafflesia in their own horror town , i would love to go to their dream town , but the fastest way to get rafflesia is chopping off all your trees , but yeah .__. and i love the pokemon *u* the final evolution , adorbs <3

Is it a necessity that the trees be chopped down, or just flowers over weeds with some trash? Because I could do the weeds, but I don't think I can bring myself to chop down all my trees. I have finally reached an almost satisfactory point from TTing to get saplings over and over. ;~; Also, it would be rather depressing if you could only have one after all the pain-staking work to turn your town into a total toilet.

I almost think it's random. I chopped all my trees, got rid of all my flowers, left items all over the place and tted repeatedly. I just couldn't get that flower. I finally gave up but this thread is making me want to go for it again but I have sooooo many hybrids now.

Good luck to you, Mantis. I have made so many freaking hybrids over the last day it is ridiculous. At this point, destroying my town means filling every square inch of my house with orange and black hybrids while the rest of my paths just whither away. If someone finds out a simpler way to get this legendary plant (which seems more to me like a gift than a burden) then I will personally create a shrine for you. And make sacrifices...
