Off topic: That kangaroo is called Kitt I think it's in my friends town. On topic: If you hit a rock with a silver shovel you have a 10% chance of duplicating each bags money so if you hit a rock and 100 bells came out to start 10% chance it may turn into 200 bells

You can do this without the golden shovel. All you need is an ordinary shovel.

Ordinary shovel and gold shovel work the same for this, but with the silver shovel you have a 10% chance of doubling the amount that comes out on any given strike on the money rock. Whenever this occurs, the "spark" is silver instead of the usual gold, and the sound effect is different. This is actually the only reason to have the silver shovel.

Well with an ordinary shovel or golden shovel, you can earn up to 8,100 Bells. With a silver shovel it ranges. Like what crakgenious said, you have a 10% chance of getting more than usual out of the rock. So you could get the usual 8,100 Bells or get up to 9,100 Bells (that was my highest, but there could be higher). For getting the highest amount possible, dig holes around the rock to secure your position. Here are some ways to position yourself and the holes around the rock:
