You buy sixty+ shrubs and tree starts off another user and you are RTL (Ready To Landscape!)

What's your landscaping style? Are you into straight hedgerows and alternating hybrid colours? Are you aiming for a "naturalistic" (but totally controlled) look? Do you just let stuff run wild?

Thistle is trying to look as foresty as possible, so I want natural paths. I try and mix up my shrubs and tree plantings so there aren't too many straight rows or repeating shrubs. I will be customizing certain villager "territories" with colours that match, ie Julian has blue pansies, violets, and roses if I can ever breed the $&%^ things.

Gamine is more of a cobblestone town, so I'll have more rows of shrubs in alternating patterns to go with villager houses, and flowers in their yard that match their house exterior. I might have some more fruit street trees. I'm aiming for a botanical garden at the bottom but that won't happen until I get (a lot) more pwps.

I'd also love to do a third town and just use the heck out of that bamboo! Cut it down in some areas, let it go in others, have a very Asiatic jungle feel to it :D

LET'S TALK ABOUT LANDSCAPE DESIGN PEOPLE!

I really love natural paths, so I design my landscaping to make that as easy as possible. I alternate tiles for bushes (so bush, no bush, bush and so on) unless I'm using them to cause a corner for a trail or the like. I love mixing colors, so I usually do like blue Hydrangea, empty space, white Azalea, blank space, pink Hydrangea, and I have lots of orchards that mix all the fruits. I just think the mix of fruit looks really good together. :)

i like having curved bush ways, about 2-7 in length, with cedar trees throughout, on ends etc.
looks like a maze, and with colour co-ordinated flowers and tons of clovers, it looks great.

I'm aiming for a naturalistic yet totally controlled look, although I'm starting to think it's not going so well. I'm using white azaleas bushes and white flowers for my town, yet it looks too well planned out and that's not what i'm really going for but I don't want to risk wasting cedar trees and bushes. So i'm currently trying to upgrade my nooklings so I can get more easier access to bushes. I really don't know how most landscapers manage to make their town look so natural and like the town totally wasn't planned out that way. I'm really having trouble with it. If you'd like i'll post it down below, although the areas still incomplete because I have no idea what to do with it as it has a lot of empty spaces, but maybe I can draw inspiration from this thread. :)

I'll have to try mixing fruits! I love all the sounds of these landscape plans :D I wish I could do cedars throughout the entire town >:(

Sailorcrossing: I need to visit some dream towns to see. I plotted out where I wanted my paths, and then used a mix of trees and bushes and flowers and mushrooms to make it look more natural. The trick I find is not to have too many repeat things, or have "rows"

I have no idea how to landscape the natural part of my down. Path and PWPs are all planned out, but trees, bushes, bamboo? No idea.

My town is a thick cedar forest with no paths and violets everywhere.

My town has WAY too many flowers and I need to integrate some bushes and bamboo! I have some clovers and I'm working making my flowers more diverse! I need to work on a little park/ orchard though.

The only town out of 6 that I have done to the best of my ability was Caprica. Nothing as come even close to it no matter what I do. I am in a funk and have no clue how to move forward. Been like this for months now. :(

I am truly envious of the energy and moxy you guys have. I am totally lazy! I have always admired well planned and manicured towns, i have just never bothered. Mine looks totally wild. I guess i will try to spin it as natural. Things fall where they may, even villagers. I dont do the whole plot resetting thing. Maybe i will give it a go, since things have gotten a bit stale in my town. :)

My main town Moonbeam is very planned out, with cobblestone paths and bridges, bushes lining the paths, and no extremely natural areas. The color scheme is blue, purple, and white (with a bit of pink if I decide to set my dream address to mid-April with all the petals falling), and it's going to be really pretty if I do say so myself!

My secondary town Burgundy is a wreck right now because I needed to cycle and got a lot of bad villagers in bad places, but I'm planning on using dirt paths and having a nice autumnal town. Although if I'm being honest, I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to pull it off without making it seem completely planned out. We'll see how it goes!

I haven't really gotten that serious with mine yet but i kind of want hibiscus starts to be the only bushes eventually, but for now i just mix all the different ones up (minus sweet olives and holly i hate those tbh). I have a princess-y type path with stained glass patterns and i think the yellow hibiscus look so fairytale like with it :3
