So I was talking to Beau and he said "So we meet again. What can I do you for, saltlick?" If you read each word slowly, you'll see that the you and the for are mixed up. (I'd assume they would be) If anyone knows a way to upload screenshots from my ds to this forum please tell me. If you tell be I'll post one in a comment.

That's not an error, that's a pretty common saying
Although I should tell you it's kind of a slang thing? Sorry it's hard to describe, but I think Beau is being mischievous and is joking around with you a little c:

Really? I've heard a good bit of saying before, but ok. It just seems the words seem mixed up to me

I was curious about the origin of this saying, because I feel like it's something I've heard more on TV shows (particularly older ones) and not as much in real life, so I looked it up. From the most upvoted answer on this page (you can check out some of the other comments for variant explanations):

"To do" someone means to give them a service... So, "What can I do you for?" switches the word order to jokingly say something to the effect of "How much would you pay me so that I will service you?" instead of "How can I help you?"

Yeah it's an old fashioned way of talking. Kind of a country thing. Def seems like something Beau would say. They decided to give him some colloquialism.
