Does anyone else have an obsession with them? After finishing the Phoenix Wright trilogy, I can't stand to play regular games, and have an unquenched thirst for some text games... I found a text RPG called Avalon on the web... very awesome.

I also want to play Snatcher... but that's another thing.

So... do you guys have any recommendations for graphic/text adventures? Be they NES, SNES, PC, etc etc...

You could get:

-Professor Layton and the Curious Village
-Apollo Justice

These games aren't released yet but they'll be worth the wait.

Also, since I'm in the mood, I'll probably start coding a text adventure.

Since the fantasy theme is now redundant and overdone, I'm gonna go for something... really original.

I'm getting both, and gonna get Hotel Dusk soon too.

I see. You could get Trace Memory.

Ah, thank you, that's another good one. Gonna add it to my b-day list, probably.

No problem.
Oddly, I have very few text adventure games.

I'm into text adventures, but I hardly ever play them.

Ironic right?

But yea I wanna get into the Pheonix Wright games, I just need to actually go to the store and buy one of them. lol

I may get Professor Layton. Oh yea is touch detective like a text adventure?

Oh my God, you SO should get into Phoenix Wright. In order, though... you won't understand the later ones if you haven't played the ones that come before.

But man... what an awesome series. Some of the best games on DS, and probably ever.

Touch Detective... I'm guess yes. Don't know much about the games, though.

Oh I used to love these kinds of games, especially the Infocom ones way back before the NES days even. Some of my favorites were the Zork trilogy, Border Zone, Enchanter Series, and Sherlock. There were a lot of others, too, but those are the ones that stick out.

There's a really strong indie interactive fiction community out there still. Lots of good games there as well. This is a decent place to start:

These types games are really fantastic. Incidentally, I prefer Inform (http://www.inform-fiction.org/I7/Welcome.html) to tads, but it's probably personal preference. YMMV.
