terraforming at night eliminating scorpion spawns?

my friend always plays ac at night and she hasn't seen any scorpions after playing for hours while terraforming. once she closed the terraforming application, she saw a scorpion within a few minutes. does keeping terraforming open actually eliminate scorpion spawns or is it a glitch?

that would explain why I hardly ever see them even though most of my playing is after sunset. Interested in what others say about this!

I believe I encountered tarantula once while terraforming. It was a few month ago so my memory might be fuzzy.

However, after I finished terraforming and half decorated my island I have never seen scorpion. It's been around a month now? And last time I saw one it suicided by jumping into the ocean...

They’re just a really rare spawn, sometimes won’t see any for a week then see three or four in one night.

I don't think terraforming does that, but I'm not too sure. I do however terraform constantly and I've never encountered a tarantula or scorpion, but I do not think that would justify that as preventing them to spawn. It probably is a result of their rare spawn rates.
