Ten Villagers Question

In one of my villages, I had nine in town and got Coco to move in when she was at the campsite. Shortly after that, another villager left, so I was back down to nine. Thought one more would be moving out, so I was surprised when Bangle moved in today. Now I have ten again.

I always thought that the town would try to have eight by default before someone moved in and that the tenth would only move in if you either asked the villager at a campsite or from another town.

Pretty much I am wondering if I should be concerned if the number of potential villagers moving out is one or two. I ask around every day for rumours because I don't want certain dreamies to leave!

you'll never have two villagers moving out at the same time. The game, if left to it's own devices, will continuously bounce back and forth between 8 and 9 villagers. The 10th villager can come from your campsite, can be invited from someone else's town by you, or they could move in from someone's void (if you had someone visit you, or visited someone who recently had a villager move out without finding a new home for them, there's a high chance they could move into the next visitor's town.)

If you have 10 villagers, someone is going to want to move out. Once they move and you are back down to nine villagers, after a couple days, someone else will also try to move. (keeping with the 8/9 villager number). Hope that confusing mass of words helps a little..

Ah yes, that is helpful! I've been time traveling to cycle out villagers since I don't like the majority of them, and Renee is moving out now. I don't have to worry about anyone else moving out until she does?

yes, that's correct! until Renee leaves, no one else will ping to move

I have 9 villagers right now ... does any one know how long I have until a random moves in?
