Splatoon Team matches against the same team???

I don't know if it's a glitch or what, but I'm Team Marshmallow and I just had THREE MATCHES against... Team Marshmallow.

Is this a glitch? If not, why'd Nintendo do this? What's the point? Splatfest is about beating the OTHER team. So why have matches against the SAME TEAM???

They said this during the first Splatfest, but sometimes it takes too long to find an opponent team (in this case, team Hot Dog), so you'll just be matched up with another team on your side. It basically says there are a LOT more people on team Marshmallow than on team Hot Dog.

I guess that's cool for my team, but it doesn't really make any sense for you to be fighting against your own team...
Also I'm really fed up with all the DC's I've been getting, FOUR MATCHES IN A ROW I hit a DC. Ugh.

If you only played against the opposing team you'd be in the lobby ages.


Believe it or not the teams arent 50 50. More people vote for one or the other.

Not only was I having the same problem, but we were always on Moray tower,

I guess that's cool for my team, but it doesn't really make any sense for you to be fighting against your own team...
Also I'm really fed up with all the DC's I've been getting, FOUR MATCHES IN A ROW I hit a DC. Ugh.

They did this for match-making reasons. If you were to wait for Team Hot Dog, it would take much longer to get a match, because there's fewer than them. If you win, you still get the appropriate amount of points towards the title, though.

I believe for win %, the Marshmallow vs Hot Dog matches are the only ones that count for the final results, though. The worst thing is I have had near terrible luck against Hot Dog teams. Either a DC, or someone on the team giving up entirely, or me getting stuck with Squid Babies. I carried a team of level 2, 6, and 6, right from the start on Camp Triggerfish. My only option was to be a really mean person and basically shut down the other team at their base for the match.
