I'm looking to buy some collectables for my lineup, but don't have much tbt. Is it allowed to trade collectables for in game currency like bells or nmt? I'd love some help, it's my first time doing this!

Yes, it's allowed. Most people who are selling collectibles usually want pure TBT or a mix of TBT and in-game items though.
