Tarantulas on your island

i've started seeing tarantulas again, i don't see them often, but when i do i panic lol- hate fainting.

I usually see one each evening, often hanging around by the plaza.

thanks for sharing . I missed the last time tarantulas were here since I didn’t have the game, though not sure if I will get to find any since my time playing has declined.

Yeah, I saw one not too long ago. Back when the game first launched I would easily find them. They were pretty common in my opinion. But then in an update the spawn rate for them was nerfed significantly, and since then I do not see them hardly at all. Same with scorpions, obviously, as they have the same rate of spawning. It might take a little longer to catch one these days, but with enough persistence you should get one.

yup I saw my first tarantula of the season a few nights ago! I wonder if we will still see tarantulas when there is snow on the ground, seems strange if so. I can't remember if that happened or not in NL.

They're available for northern hem players (I think scorpions are available for southern hem).

Since I donated one to the museum back at launch, I'm currently trying to catch 3 for Flick's model. I've managed to get 2 so far, but lately I've been having horrible luck. I know if you play at about 1AM, they tend to spawn more, but I can't get the last one to show up for me. OTL

I only had one encounter lately. I guess they don't spawn often as compared to before.

I managed to catch one right at the end of the season (didn't start playing until october in the SH) so now I don't have to worry about running into them, I just have SCORPIONS running around my island instead

I don't play much during the night time, but I have caught a couple tarantulas. I find them less terrifying than the scorpions .

i usually don't see them, but i usually don't play between the hours of 7PM - 7AM. ironically, i caught my very first tarantula last night. i've been trying since i got the game to catch one of those, or a scorpion, to no avail. but half of my hunt is officially over now

i find that if you're trying to make one spawn, you need to catch some bugs to force it to pop in. that's what i did to catch the walking stick bug, and that's also what i was doing last night; just catching a few things to make some quick bells, and the tarantula popped up.
