I've never done villager trading before but Rasher left me yesterday (I never knew about trading then 
) and now I have 8 villagers and two playable characters, I'm pretty sure that means I still have a space to replace Rasher but as I say, I've never traded before so might need an explanation on how I go about taking Tank on, would you want me to pay for him as I would love to take him into my town.
