Here I think we can share some of our favorite late night/all night gaming to beat a game or simply because it was that great.

My favorite time was a Christmas when I got the gamecube. I had gotten SSBM from my aunt, but didn't have the cube yet, so I quickly took the savings from my birthday and went out to find one, got it in black just like I wanted.

Anyway hours later many characters unlock, several "epic clashes" between me and my bro later, and I was still wide awake despite it being 2:30 in the mourning. Mind you this was before there where things on the internet saying how to get the secret characters. I got Luigi completely by luck it would seem, Jigglypuff first of course, if I remember right we got Marth and Gannondorf, may be others even.

But honestly I was just obsessed with it, thank god there was a whole week of nothing to do before school again

:P

hmm, I remember when I beat kingdom hearts 2 I was up till like 1:00AM because there were a ton of bosses at the end of the game and then the last one took me a ton of tries D=

Before one of my really good friends moved away to Maryland, I would sleep over at her house the same time that her brother's friend slept over. We usually played the Gamecube or the PS1 ALL NIGHT LONG.

Anyways, one time, her brother's friend brought Shrek 2 with him, because we'll usually play anything. We each claimed our own characters (My friend was Donkey and the Big Bad Wolf, her brother was Shrek and Gingy, the friend was Fiona and Little Red Riding Hood, and I was Puss in Boots and the Fairy), and played through.

Now, I warn you, NEVER play a game like Shrek 2 when you're on a sugar high at 2 in the morning. Half the time, we were dying of laughter because we were falling off of cliffs, dying from random things, and other stuff. We managed to get the the final boss in that one night, but we never got to beat it.

Two years later, when she and her brother came back to California for a week, we did the whole sleepover with her brother's friend, and we played SSBM (mostly the Black Hole Glitch), Tales of Symphonia (showing me the cat room), Tales of the Abyss (showing me divine arts)...

At one point, we were playing Star Fox Assault on a sugar high. We played Sniper Showdown, and my friend was Peppy... "DA BUNNY IS GOING TO SHOOT GREEN!" She announced her positions, and it was hysterical.

FINALLY, we got to playing Shrek 2, where we stopped at (after playing the infamous "Gabriel, don't jump up there!" level, named after the friend whose character sucked at jumping). It took us a few tries (we kept dying), and we got to the final stage of the boss. Everyone died, and I was just about to... I jumped in the air, swung my sword like the crazy cat person I was, and I defeated the final boss.

The house sounded like this "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!", and the "YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" echoed off the walls. It was awesome.

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga.. ah yes.. that xmas was so awesome.

I'm guessing this Xmas will be the same, except It'll be with a 360 and halo 3 D:

Oooooh... I'm all too familiar with late-nighters.

Way back a few years ago, my brother and dad were having some EPIC Mario Kart 64 and Mario Tennis 64 matches. We are all pretty much evenly matched in the two games, so it's tons of fun... Our record was sometime until 2 AM. That was some good stuff... we sometimes still play the two games together. We usually got hysterical when we played the games, making off-beat jokes and off-color comments about stuff... haha.

And then I remember when I got Ocarina of Time... my first Zelda game. Pretty much played it obsessively back in the day, surely late into the night, though I don't remember anything specific.

Then I played Resident Evil 4 with my bro late into the night, it was awesome. We got to the part with the laboratory and the guys with the irregular breathing... At 1AM, that can scare the crap out of anyone, but it was tons of fun.

And what would a post of mine be without some Fire Emblem love? I've played way too many FE games into the wee hours of morning, especially the portable ones, since I don't have to be TOO wide awake to play those.

:P

Anyways, a more recent late-night game for me has been Picross DS. There was one day where I realized it was 3AM and I was still solving the puzzles... Woah.

:P

The way he died was awesome though. In fact, all of the boss deaths in MP3 are insanely cool, as weird as that sounds.

SkyTown really felt like some abandoned dictatorship civilization with Ghor's face popping out everywhere. That was a really cool touch. But those robots in SkyTown felt so real... I wish I didn't kill the small ones...

ROFL, I did the exact same thing.

"Die, you STINKIN' TRAITORS!" xD

Oh yeah, that was an AWESOME part. Reminded me of Ocarina of Time, when Ganondorf threw up blood.

Ultra just linked this to me. I'm her friend that moved to Maryland.
