i'm such a perfectionist and symmetry freak it almost hurts xD This causes me to spend hours upon hours trying to get a house in the perfect spot because I can't handle if it's 1 square too much to the right then what i really want, ugh i wish i wasnt like that sometimes, because i've spent hours now x_x

any similar feelings ?

I feel like updating, because after like 12 hours of plot resetting (because I have no life) the house finally went into the right spot, i almost cried

I feel you.
I've spent weeks plot resetting one villager before (Dotty) and it sucks so much! But I HAVE to have them in the right spots! Having a second town helps so you don't get discouraged from the game altogther

I remember i was plot resetting for stitches and he was ALMOST in the perfect spot but he was missing one square. it took so much time to get him in that spot but it was all worth it in the end :3
also not plot resetting related but i just cut down a lot of trees just to have them one square over symmetrical to the other line of trees to the left... whoops

I totally feel your pain because I too am the same. I'm such a perfectionist and I love symmetry. However when I start working myself too hard to get a villager in a particular spot I just lose it. Lol That's why I started plotting my villagers in a way where it looks neat and organized but I don't stress myself about it as hard.




This is a picture of my town I just reset, Chestnut. As you can see I plotted my villagers to be in vertical lines. It's not perfectly aligned but I loved this layout. c:​

Most of my houses aren't that symmetrical, but I have Lolly's house, the campsite (aligned) and then I made a spot for Julians house next to the campsite, so the camp will go in the middle of Lolly and Julian's houses! They have similar house design(not colors) so i think it will look good!

I am way waaaay too picky about house placements, omg. All my villagers houses have to be aligned horizontally. Can relate 100000000%
My longest plot reset was Marshal... 4? days, I think. it was towards the end of the 3 day mark. 12 hours I spent per day.
Even now, he is one space up from where I wanted him but if I had to see Rover one more time I think I would've gone crazy.... yet him being one spot off annoys me everyday ;_;

Also just finally finished Lolly, took me about 2 days. <3
That feeling of relief when you see their plot -exactly- where you want them is the best lol.

Yes!! Not so much with houses because I don't have the patience, but when it comes to landscaping my town everything has to be symmetrical. I'm so picky.

I do however in 2 of my towns have all the villagers on one side of my town.

I really don't understand the reason for plot resetting. If a villager moves in, and you like that villager, keep it. If you don't like that villager, passively aggress it until it moves out.

Yep, yep, I know the feeling. >.< Spent a WEEK plot resetting Poppy until she lined up with Mitzi and Goldie with at least 3 spaces away from my path (which is single-tiled) on the other side. Then I spent another 4 days to get Bones to plot in line above her house, but at least 3 spaces in between them. I'm taking a nice long break and just rejecting move pings until I fill my town up and make things a little easier.



Just a little visual aid of every villager I've plot reset in Marzipan based on how many days were spent resetting until they landed where they did. I'm way too obsessed with symmetry in this town.

I don't see the reason behind plot resetting like in the beginning, tbh but plot resetting for invited villagers (dreamies) is entirely different. of course some people don't mind where houses go, but some (like me XD) realllly do mind. for example if I invited Ankha and she plotted right in front of my house or over my perfect fruit orchard, I wouldn't want to keep her at all.

So the day you went to a villagers house (or the campsite) and asked them to move in, example lets say the 28th of February. You would save & quit your game, load up mayor, TT (time travel) to 5:58 AM the next day, February 29th. You don't necessarily have to TT, but it's quicker obviously. XD
Anyways, the second you load up the game at 5:58, save and quit. Immediately. Don't run around, none of that. Don't delay saving & quitting, cause if the time goes past 6:00 AM, it's a new day and it's too late.
ANYWAYS, wait about 3 minutes on the menu/load up screen. Then when you're certain the game is past 6:00 AM, hit A, then New Save File.
Go through the annoying bla bla process with Rover, and search your town for the plot. Don't like it? Power button - home. Start over. New Save File, Rover, run around, rinse and repeat.
when they finally do plot in a good spot, go to Isabelle, then build your home with Nook. Back to Isabelle, get your TPC, save and quit.
Then delete that character. play game normally as mayor. Viola. :]

I understand completely! I spend such a long time with one of my dreamies because I had ONE spot that they had to move into, and I wouldn't accept the, moving ANYWHERE else. I felt SOOO relieved when she finally moved into the exact spot I needed her to be.

So generally when I plot reset, I don't have any idea as to where the villager should plot.
So if the villager plots in a somewhat decent spot,
ie not in front of my house, train station, town hall and bridges,

Once, a cow moved RIGHT in my path. It was worse because it was right below a bridge and it was in the middle of an intersection, blocking the path from three different ways. i rejoiced when she finally moved.

Yes yes yes. I'm so mad, because after Naomi moved out, some dumb pig plopped his sorry butt in Naomi's old spot, but JUST FAR ENOUGH IN FRONT that it killed a few of my flowers AND removed some bamboo I had placed behind my house symmetrically, because it looked cool. >:c

Anyway, my landscaping I really need to be symmetrical, it annoys me at the moment as Marina and Zucker are neighbours but Zuckers house is a few squares back by comparison to hers
Drives me mad, I've had to try and even it out with the video screen thing.
I do like everywhere else to match, currently working on all matching towers....

I have never plot reset and I seriously regret it. Bam moved in directly behind the town hall, Kid Cat shoved his house directly in front of the coffee house, and I literally just finished building the police station three days ago...Mira moved in yesterday...and put up her house directly in front of the Police Station It's beyond frustrating. I think I'm going to start plot resetting. I'm just getting so annoyed as of late, and when I know a new villager plot is about to pop up, I just end up feeling anxious about it.

I usually have a spot in mind when plot resetting villagers where I want them to move, but after like 2 hours of plot resetting I get fed up and just go with the best spot I can get.

I started out plot resetting in the first days of Toretto, but gave up. It was just taking so long & I wasn't going to landscape until I had my dreamies moved in. Fast forward 18 months & half my dreamies moved out, but mostly the newbies plot in the same places. I haven't had to do a lot of path movement so far.

Haha this is me, but with PWPs. All my villagers moved in relatively nice places (out of the way). I can't stand it when there is an arch in front of a bridge because it's always off center. They need to make bigger arches with wider spaces in-between.
