Surprised by who your character's best friend is in the game?

I have a high friendship with all my villagers. Two weeks before Sydney received the most mail from me. She not my favorite villager. On my birthday my favorite picked me up and Sydney was in the house. Left the game without saving and celebrated it again. 2nd time the villagers were different. Another favorite picked me up for my birthday. Did it one more time so I could celebrate with everyone.

Mine was Pashmina, I always thought the best friend would be Velma since I over did talking with her a lot and never declined her quests, but yeah so far I have a lot of Pashmina's pictures but zero from Velma, gosh goose nuggets!

My character's best friend is Nate. He hosted my birthday party and drops by at my house all the time but he still hasn't given me his picture yet.

I wonder who my characters best friend is going to be? I think it's going to be Fauna, Fuchsia or Rosie. I talk to them the most and they started off in my village first. Plus all of them (mostly Fauna I think) send me letters

In my second town (Granada), my best friend is Maple, my adorable little normal cub, since she was the one who organized my birthday party. Not too far behind her are Boone, my jock gorilla, and Becky, my snooty chicken, since they attended the party as well.

What's interesting here is that Molly and Maple are two of the most popular villagers in the game. Both are Tier 2 villagers, with Maple just a few spots ahead of Molly.

Ozzie in my second town was not a surprise at all but in my first town I was so sure, it would be Tex and he did not even show up for my birthday party. Apparently my best friend is Hamlet (which is great... but Tex!! ) with Lyman and Clay as the other guests. A few days after my birthday Tex decided to move out and I let him. I still kind of miss him though.
