I love getting Surprise Villagers. I've gotten Phoebe & Vic recently.
What I don't like is getting villagers from my other town (I have 2 games/2 3ds). I want to meet as many villagers as I can and there are 333 in total to meet. I have quite a ways to go.
Well I actually got Drake and Diana as a bit of a pleasant surprise. I didn't like Diana until she moved in, now I think she's a pretty good snooty, possibly a permanent resident. I really like Drake, his design is great imo, but I already have a lazy picked out, so I don't know if I'm keeping him or not.
My first and only surprise so far has been Eloise. She followed me home from my friend's void after I visited her town. Eloise is pretty nice, and sometimes she shows me a letter that my friend had written to her and acts all happy
My brother had a town with Ankha but he accidentally lost her after TTing.
When I started up my game next, I discovered she had placed her plot right in the middle of one of my paths. I was initially frustrated, but, after finding that in working around her plot (the path she had destroyed was a bit awkward looking to start with) the path actually looked much better. I had to lose Camofrog to make the arrangement work, though in the end the alterations were a huge improvement. Ankha is now one of my favorite villagers. She was actually my Gamecube island villager so there's a feeling of nostalgia involved too.
cookie was my first bff when i got nl for my birthday last year hhaaa ha. i got rocco from a girl i streetpassed at a UIL event and i never talked to him. ever. urgh.
Aw, Cookie is adorable! You got lucky, and she didn't pick a bad spot, that's even more lucky. Congrats!
The only time I got a surprise villager was Frobert. I actually picked him up from my little niece. It was before I knew that such a thing could happen, so I was very annoyed and angry. I ignored him COMPLETELY for a month until he left. I felt really bad for him though, because he was actually pretty cute, and so lonely and sad walking around a town where no one talked to him. D': It still breaks my heart to think about how I treated him. It's just that he was taking up space that a dreamy could have been in.
If I had known then what I know now, I would have talked to him. I had 2 other characters at the time. I could have used them to ignore him and made friends with him on my mayor character. Eventually I traded online for his pic and put it in one of my houses as a sign of respect, and an apology for the way I treated him.
