Over the past few years, I never had much of an issue playing home consoles in a somewhat warm room. However, I bought a PlayStation 3 Slim used from a trusted used video game store last December and have had some minor issues playing games in said room. When the room temperature exceeds 86? F according to a thermostat I have in my media shelving, I notice that the sound of my PS3 Slim's cooling fan changes pitch and becomes much louder, about as loud as an original model PS2 or louder. One time, I checked the system and it was very warm. Since discovering this a few days ago, I place external fans in front of the system where it draws the cool air in.
This situation was definitely a first for me, but I am curious if anyone else has this kind of issue. If you do, how constant of an issue is it for you? Monthly? Yearly?
