Not that the developers read this forum or anything, but the more I play AC:NL the more I think about the things I'd love to see in the next version. Among those are...

1. Storage system revamp. If there's going to be more items, more clothes, bottoms, socks, and shoes, and particularly, more things that aren't orderable, there needs to be a lot more storage space. I've got all my museum rooms stuffed with clothes and unorderables as well as my basement, and I'm still at capacity in my locker. I'm considering a second character just for the storage space. Harvest Moon's storage system in recent games has been great, and Animal Crossing could take a page from their book--there are separate storage areas for separate types of items (tools, foods, etc) and these are expandable as you play along. Another thing that would help is for all items to be stackable, not just fruits (i.e., stack gold nuggets, or clovers). But, also, making lots more stuff reorderable (for example, GracieGrace items) would help too. Because, honestly, in the real world you can order designer clothes from the internet.

2. Campers need to be much more consistent. Especially when your town has less than 10 villagers. I often feel like, what did I build a campsite for? I have a week where I have 3 campers back-to-back while my village is full, then for weeks on end no campers at all? Lately I've been 2 villagers down for more than 2 weeks, and not a single camper has come ready to pack it in and move to my town. The campsite is a great idea in theory--it lets you see many of the different types of animals (fell in love with Drago, who typically camped when I had no space) without an obligation of committing to them. It's just far too random when it's occupied.

3. A grid system for placing public works. Generally, I love Isabelle, and I think she's a great addition to the game. But trying to place my public works really makes me want to wring her little neck. "It's too close to something else"?? WHAT ELSE?? It makes it very difficult to place public works the way you want them by just kind of walking around and hoping she'll suggest where you want it. Again, the Harvest Moon series' recent games are a good place to look for a better system. HM: A New Beginning had a grid placement system when you entered "edit mode." You could also reposition things you had already built (which would be great!!) in case you changed your mind. It made it a lot easier to group things together, and no necks were wrung.

4. Floral hedges for homes. This is just a personal thing I'd like to see, but it makes me sad that while I can have cute hydrangea hedges all around my town, around my house all I can get is a plain green one. Since there are so many more options for home customization this time around, why not expand that a little next version?

5. Please just dump the grass wear. I know it's not as bad as City Folk, but I still hate having dead or dying patches of grass all over my town, even with carefully placed paths. I also dislike how a lot of the public works come with their own dirt patch. Animal Tracks is a cute idea in theory, but not so fun in practice, especially in the winter when you're trying to roll up a whole snow family now (instead of just snowmen).

So those are my main things. What would you like to see in the next version?
