There are two policemen that live on my street.. or at least EX-policemen.

The first one has been a cop for twenty years and has an amazingly wonderful record! He is on of the most honest and trustworthy men I know. One day while he was on his shift a hobo had grabbed his arm, AND, in self defense, the cop hit his arm so he would let go.
(Seriously who knows what that hobo was going to do!)
The hobo sued him in city court and won. THEN he took it to federal. The Federal police came and arrested the cop in the middle of dinner and his children were scared (they're really young.) The hobo won once again in federal court for a cop just using self defense. Now the cop is in jail for two years and everyone in my neighborhood AND at the police department are in shock! He got FIRED from his job and now it will be difficult for him to get another b/c of his Jail Record.

Amazing how the judge with THAT amount of power would to that to this family. And this cop who has done an EXCELLENT job.

The second cop was sleeping on the job and got caught by FOX news. He is stubborn and ALWAYS speeds down our street. And he just got fired.

It's a sad day when an honest man is punished. Also, how will other cops react knowing if they use self defense it MIGHT get them in jail. What a shame.

The stupid hobo won $150,000 >.<
Also shows that Lawyers will do anything to win a case. I mean not all lawyers are like that of course.

But The GOOD cop didnt even hit him that hard b/c he showed me how hard he hit him. (only b/c i asked him to show me lol)

That's terrible. The hobo obviously just sued him to get money. What was the cop suppose to do, let the hobo attack him and not do anything? Whenever I see stories like this, I always wonder why the judge and jury make such stupid decisions. I am 15 years old and even I know that the cop is innocent and was just protecting himself.

I feel bad for the Police Officer. The Hobo shouldn't have grabbed the guy's arm...UNLESS maybe the hobo was lying down and needed help getting up to begin with. Still, Police Officers are supposed to use self-defence, and the judge/jury couldn't see that.

You never know, so it may of seemed like self defense but to the hobo, he could have thought the police was attacking him.
