He came to my town today, and I saw a painting at his shop. I thought "oooh, I painting! I could use that for my museum!" So, I bought it from him for 3,920 Bells (a lot to me, as I am kinda broke right now). When I tried to donate it to Blathers, he said it was COUNTERFEIT!! I'M HAVING FOX FOR SUPPER!!!

The first time Redd stopped in my town I shelled out 3k for the scary painting, and ordered a second one before I donated one to Blathers. The next time I bought a painting I knew it was a fake, because when I went to Nook's to order another... It was not on the list! Even if it is counterfeit it still looks cool, but when/how do I get the insurance money for the fraud?

Well, how do you know Redd is selling a fake painting? Does the piece look different, or is it one of those 'If it's too good to be true, it probably is' kind of thing?

Ya, I bought the painting for the same price and it was fake. If you go to tom nook and look in your catalog, and the painting is in their then that means it is real.
If it is not in their dont give it to blathers and you can sell it to Tom Nook for full price since Nook won't know it's fake.
