Stump Patterns?

Hi!

I was just wondering, is there a certain way to garentee more patterned stumps while cutting trees down?
I seem to have very little luck when it comes to that and I was wondering if it is just luck based or if there is something I can do to increase my chances?

I have multiple areas in my town where I want tree stumps, but I want to have pretty ones.

hit a tree twice with a gold or regular axe, then the third hit with a silver axe.

You get silver axes from the island (rare).
I have a few extra I can give you, FREE. I'm not online with my 3ds atm but I can PM you later.
A silver axe will 100% give you a special tree stump if it is the 3rd hit.
Trick:
Open your gate (nearby is OK, so no one comes over while you are doing this).
Use gold or regular ax for first 2 hits.
Then change to silver axe for final hit.
If you don't like the special pattern, flip the wi-fi switch. Be sure to open the gate again.
If you do, Save & Continue.
Then move on to the next tree you want to cut down.
You can also do this without the silver axe, it will just take a lot of flipping the wi-fi switch before you get a special tree stump.

That is the most brilliant trick I have ever heard of. o____o I will deffinatly be using that! I didn't even think to do that with the wifi like that!
