What is Island Hopping?

It's when you have a Club Tortimer membership and you go from island to island. I only island hop when I'm looking for something specific to buy, like a red wet suit or flip flops. CT has some items for sale that aren't available on your private island.

I once met a boy in CT with white hair color, wear glasses, and another person, a girl, arrived later called him grandpa and old ********, and she left immediately bcs she said she don't want to play with creepy old man. It's seriously rude af, but you know what.. luckily, he's a Japanese and I don't think he understood a single world she said lmao

that term confused me too when i first heard it. it just means poking your head in to club tortimer, buying what's there that you want (if anything), and then immediately hauling butt back home; then you ride back out to club tortimer and repeat. when you go back, the club tortimer that the system takes you too could have different people there and different objects on sale.

when you visit your own island, one of the things you can purchase (for 50 medals i think) in the island gift is a membership in "Club Tortimer." (not sure if its an item there each day or if it rotates among the shop wares). after you buy it, when you go to see Kappn, he'll ask if you're going to your regular island, or to the Club Tortimer island. The Club Tortimer island has all the same features of your own island, except on any given day it may have different tours and different items for sale than your town's island does. also- Club Tortimer occasionally carries some items for sale that you cannot obtain in your own town's island ever. Aaand-- other people can also go to the Club Tortimer island while you are there, you guys can interact and play together (or ignore each other). also, When you do go to Club Tortimer, you have option of staying in your own continent, or going ot one that's "international."

I've never had an unpleasant time at CT, I usually go for the whole world option and end up with some one from outside the US. They are much nicer.

I've gone island hopping and ran into one person that said some odd stuff. The next island different player and says the same odd stuff. Island hop a third time and both of those players have shown up. Still saying the same odd stuff.

The islands late night were very quiet awhile back. Now all the crazy players are out again. I just island hop and leave.

KCourtnee - as far as I remember club TC membership form only shows on your island when you go there alone.
If you go to your own island with visitors you have in town, then it gets replaced with another item - never been anything special in the space though.

That's bizarre and kind of creepy. I tend to avoid CT now, if there's any island exclusive items I'm missing I just get them off here, it saves all the hassle. The same with if I'm looking for towns to visit, I talk to people on here and go to their towns. I've found the majority of CT users to be very very young, around 8 or 9 mostly. And they don't really know what they're talking about for the most part.
It could just have been a coincidence, maybe like somebody else said it's the new 'in' thing to call other people granny. I wouldn't know, not down with this sort of thing
It's a strange place at the best of times, the local islands actually seem worse but the international I can't understand anybody as they are mostly Japanese.

It was probably your firm grasp of proper grammar and punctuation. I get called old sometimes for using "big" words (that aren't even big), but I too am a little older, so it makes sense in person. But you're right--it is creepy that they both called you that, and from just seeing/interacting with your mayor, no less.

I tend to stay away from Club Tortimer anyway, and you've just validated my decision.

I very rarely go on Club Tortimer. Would probably use longer words and sentences that actually meant something if it wouldn't mean filling the chatbox with a couple words. Ugh, that keyboard's slow to use.
