So Stephen Hawking died today. I'm flabbergasted. Although I wasn't an active follower of his, I genuinely loved learning about his theories. And albeit I didn't actively study them, I liked what I heard and did learn.
Science has lost a wonderful physicist today. Rest in peace, Stephen Hawking.

So saddened by this.

The world has lost a truly brilliant man.

R.I.P, Stephen.

He's a big role model for me since I've been considering a career in astrophysics. Sad to hear he's gone, but I'm amazed by all his discoveries and contributions to the physics community. He definitely won't be forgotten.

I was sad for a little bit and I think it's a shame that we lost someone so incredibly intelligent yet so incredibly humble. His discoveries shaped who I am as a person. However, I can remember him saying that he's not scared to die. He believes that his brain is a computer and when he dies it's simply a computer shutting down. I can really believe he was at peace with his own mortality and greeted death with an open mind.

He taught me this though.

“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up.”
