Is it possible to keep your town in a form of stasis? Like no villagers moving in or out, or does a villager have to eventually move out? Because after i get rid of Gladys and replace her with an uchi i will be content with my villagers and i won't want any to move out. Also i don't want to have no spaces for plot resetting, and then have a villager move out without me being able to stop it

Villagers will still request to move out, but if you manage to (since they can still move after you tell them not to) stop them every time, your town can have the same villagers for as long as you keep playing (to stop villagers from moving). There are no 'forced move-outs', for that matter.

if you tell a villager to not move out, the next time you play no one will have moved, no matter how much time has passed.

ah, i just thought that they'd say something like 'no i've made up my mind you can't stop me' if i told them they couldn't move

No don't worry, you can keep villagers for as long as you like :) as long as you make sure to check for movers and stop them before they go into boxes there is no reason you can't keep them in your town for years :)

As others have said you can keep your villagers as long as you want in 2 ways:
1.If you ever want to take a break from the game no matter how long find the next mover and tell them not to move when they ask then save and close the game.
I have 7 towns now and can't possibly keep up with them regularly so I have to do this. There would just be no other way.

2.find your movers and always tell them no, place pwps in places that would be where villagers can actually move to. I have a link on my PC that actually tells pretty specifically how to find this out for your own town by showing how the game determines how many spaces are available for a villager to move into.
However, it is quite scientific and I can't say the easiest to follow if you are not use to the terminology they use to expain everything. But I have never found anything to this day that has helped me figuring out where to place PWPS to limit where a villager can move to. They can't actually move to anywhere they want which is why plot resetting can be so difficult for some.

As soon as I find it I wil post it.
