Starting wild world! Advice?

As the title suggests, I just bought a copy of wild world and I’m excited to play. But before I do, I’m wondering if there’s anything important I should know in terms of when I first begin, general gameplay, etc. For help, I’ve played new leaf and new horizons out of all titles, if anyone would like to compare aspects between those. Thanks!

i see you’re based in UK, so i’d definitely get the Prima Guide, they go for a good price on eBay and have a lot of important information to get you started with the game! also, if one of your favourite villagers is trying to leave, you can talk to them lots and they eventually decide to stay! also if you find a coconut on the beach, be sure to plant it on the bottom half of the map (or it may wither and die … )

When "Mom" eventually sends you a foreign fruit in a letter, be sure to plant it (preferably in a spot where a current tree exists, so you don't lose it to a dead spot). When it yields fruit, do the same with those fruits, and repeat until you have 20+ foreign fruit trees. It's very hard to make bells in the older games, so being able to harvest a bunch of foreign fruit every three days will get you some money to get going.

But since it's summer now, you can also do some bug hunting (especially at night for some of the rarer beetles) and fishing (especially if you see a shark fin). And of course, you'll want to find the money rock every day too. Good luck with your town!
