I've just got new leaf and I'm about to start my new town now so if there's any tips or advice for starting up a new town that would be great!

I have a rough idea what sort of town I want. I used to play wild world a lot and I reset so many times to get the town I want so I'm probably going to do the same now. I want the plaza to be in the middle of town and I want a really cute spot to put my house. I've looked at the perfect fruits and I think I want apples or peaches - and circle grass for the stars in the winter ^-^

I need a little bit of help choosing a town name. My wild world town was called Clover, which I still think is really cute but if anyone has any other suggestions then please tell me. I like names that aren't too fancy or a mash-up of two words. I just like simple town names like Lilypad or Crystal.

I'll update when I get a town - I'm so excited ^^

Congrats on your new town!

I will say that if those are your requirements, then prepare to reset a lot (although it helps that you've given yourself two fruit options instead of one). I ultimately sacrificed my preferred grass type when everything else was perfect on a map I selected. I resetted more times than I care to admit in order to get my map, heh.

I don't have any town name suggestions, sorry. Clover is a cute name though ^^

Also, once you've selected your map, I would suggest to start thinking about where to put your permanent public works projects. You can't demolish those once you build them, so you'll want to make sure you'll be happy with their placements! You still have a fair amount of time until building these becomes an option for you, but it's still something to keep in mind. =)

I think when starting up a town it's a good idea not to settle for anything less than what you wanted in a map, yeah it can be frustrating having to reset over and over but believe me, it's much more worth it when you have a perfect map that you actually wanted then a map that you settled for because chances are you'll end up deleting it because everything wasn't how you wanted it.

Also i'd say it's important to pay off your first two house debts from Tom Nook, because after you pay off the second debt it unlocks the island and you can make a lot of income from traveling there and catching bugs and fish. Since the bugs and fish on the island are worth a lot. I recommend going at 8PM since that's when most of the more rarer bugs and fish come out.

Not sure if you know this trick already but I recommend researching about plot resetting if you're the sort who likes their villagers to be in certain areas of town. I also recommend researching about the ping method which can help you change villagers catchphrases, have them tell you they are moving and get PWP suggestions. I hope this helped :)

idk about town names, but a good way to get money in new leaf is to visit the island after 5pm (you unlock it after a few days)

and in new leaf you need to get the villager permit to 100 before you can get started and work more on your town, some easy things to get points are to choose a flag, change the town tune, help villagers, take out weed etc. and if they don't sell the tools you want on the first day go talk to isabelle and talk (help her a bit before this option comes up) and choose the bug or the fish thing. talk o her again and if you don't have a net (if you chose bug) or fishing rod (if you chose fish) she'll sell you one.

I'm terrible at coming up with names for my towns and characters so I'm no help there I'm sorry. My first town was called TreeTown and my town on my AC 3 DS is Clown (with "Town" being added in dialogue). Characters are Petunia, Petal, Hunny, Caliope, Fred, Phillip, Mildred, and Pixie. No particular reason for any of them lol.

I like Clover as a name, personally. If that's one you're partial to with nothing better, I'd just go with that!

Best of luck with finding the perfect town for you and getting settled in. It's an awesome game, you'll love it!
