Starting over?

Ok so I’m about 300 hours in, and I basically just go on and see if there’s new shop items or catch any new bugs/fish I need and have no motivation to change my town as I got bored of that. Anyone reset and like it more or did you regret it?

I was about 500 hours in and was so bored with just going in and doing nothing. I basically completed my town to the standard I wanted so I did decide to restart about 10 days. I’m really enjoying it, just being able to go on and have stuff to do, it feels new and refreshing

I’m not resetting my island (my parents would be upset if I did) but I am getting a lite for a new island. I’m excited for it!

I was basically in your same shoes. Motivation for my island was non-existent. I was so scared to restart after putting in 300+ hours but I'm so happy I did. I already love my new island so much more. My creativity and motivation is back as well.

I have yet to finish my island the first time around, and I keep thinking about what do I do once it’s complete. I feel like I hear of so many people completely restarting and I see why but I also feel like I couldn’t just completely undo all of my hard work. I share the island with my boyfriend and it’s his switch, so part of me just really wants to buy my own switch and have my own island.
