My cousin got a her own copy of NL and after loosing a dreamy, I'm tempted to move all my stuff and villagers to her game and start my copy over and give it to her. I'll be a bit sad losing my old town layout, bugs, and fish, among other things, but I really don't want to do the 16-villager cycle to get my dreamy back. Plus, I feel it'll rekindle my interest in the game.

Basically, I'm looking for others in this situation who'e done this. Does it make me look a bit silly to destroy a whole town for one little dreamy? :)

I don't think it's silly, for I've done the same thing.

In my old town, Moonside, I had nearly collected all my Dreamies except for one. I was really satisfied with the town layout, and put a lot of work and effort into it! However, I used to time travel a lot, and because of that, I lost a Dreamie I thought I'd never be able to get, Marshal.

After I lost him, I lost the will to continue with my town and made a new one. ^^' Maybe it happens because it's a huge pain to cycle out 16 villagers to get that one back, especially if the majority of villagers in your town are Dreamies.

I don't think it's silly, it might be fun to start anew. c:

Depends on how much you have accomplished in your current town and how attached you are to it. Basically just think which you consider easier; resetting your town and rebuilding or cycling through 16 villagers to get them back?

Personally I'm currently cycling to get Chief back (I moved him out because of bad house placement) - but that's because I have had my town since release date and have literally everything unlocked. Completed museum, all PWPs, all villager pics, completed catalog, etc etc. As well as having many other dream villagers, and an almost complete town. The time it would take to redo all of that is frankly disturbing to me, so I realized it would be easier to cycle to get him back.

So basically I would just weigh one against the other and think of which would take longer. Cycling 16 takes a lot of patience if you have other dreamies. I swear they all ask to move before the villager I want to move does. I'm at 6/16 right now, and my game is currently in July from TT'ing to move villagers out. So if you don't TT, definitely reset because cycling will be nigh impossible anyways.

I restarted my town after I lost Whitney. I was SO upset, even though I had almost all my dreamies and a perfect town, I just started to feel bored and unhappy. It was very stale. I liked my villagers, especially her, but my town seemed old and small. So I hosted a giveaway to help others, and reset. Have not regretted it. It's suppose to be fun. If you 're no longer happy in your town, just reset.

I guess it also depends how many hours you sunk into your old town, and if you're willing to repeat that many again. If so, go for it. At least this time you're a seasoned player, so it'll probably go faster the second time.
