How far have you gotten before you started your town over? What if you have a special villager you want to keep and have the flower clock and town hall upgrade and the coffee shop and club lol and all that stuff?
I dont really like my town 100% and find it frustrating that all my villagers are by my retail and my fruit trees are on the other side of town. Also my retail is at the top of my screen and my dock is at the very bottom.
Ive also paid off my whole house and upgraded the whole thing.
How do you go about starting over especially if you want to keep all your furniture and clothes and fruit and everything else that you can board on someone elses beach and trust that they arent going to take something from you or anything like that? (dont mean to be rude just asking how youd trust someone enough) and how much do you tip them for their help?

You should let go of most of your items. It's hard at first , but playing without items from another save is so much more fun, trust me.

I restarted my town after playing for quite some months. I had a lot of bells, stuff in my town and some of my dreamies. I just restarted the whole thing and threw everything away. It takes quite some time to build your town up again, but I think that when you have a map that you really love, the game is more fun to play.

So yes, it takes a LOT of time, and it hurts to throw so many things away, but in the end, I think it's worth it.

If you don't want to throw your stuff away you could always ask someone to hold them for you. This is very easy with regular stuff like furniture, I think it might be a bit harder with villagers.
You could also consider re-newing your town. Demolish all of your PWP's, cut down all of your trees and start over that way. But that will never change your re-tail being so far away from the dock.

Good luck!

The funny thing is when I got the game I said "I will never reset this town!", but in July of 2013, depression took over and I started having dark thoughts and feeling down, so I reset and I time traveled to get items and stuff like that back. I really do regret starting all over again, it sucks.

But it all turned out good though. It was nice to start all over and get cool new PwP and villagers. c:

I never did it and so far it's something that I don't plan to do xD I''m simply not the type of person who is ok by losing everything that I struggled to have.

I've never reset anything, because even with the issues my town has, the fact that I like my current villagers and that I'm lazy is more important to me. :P

If you want to start over and want to carry over items, just find someone who has a good wifi rating, and especially someone who has held things for others before. I don't know how much you'd tip, I guess that's something to work out with the other person based on how much stuff you want them to hold and how much trouble that would be for them.

I reset my town because I hated the map and a friend carried my stuff (important if you don't want to lose all of your special items, like dlc, bells, you name it). For a while I felt very happy but now AGAIN villagers are making struggles in my town, I feel I got use to my old map and right now I regret reseting, which makes me angry at myself! I'm trying to deal with this new town :/

I played my town for a full year before I reset it. I kept my golden net (only because when I got it in my previous save file, I couldn't really use it that much so I wanted to use it in my new town), a cute outfit and my DLCs. I actually forgot to do this, but I was also planning to save my villager pictures. Oh well.

Every time that I start over. I start over completely.
I erase everything. If there are things or villagers you want to keep,
I think there are people who can help you with that. As far as PWPs and whatnot,
you're starting over. So, you're going to have to work you way back up there, to get
them back.
Also, always check the wi-fi ratings, and you should be fine. Don't worry about it, but do
check what time zone whoever you chose, is in and what times they would be available to give you
your things back.

I can't bring myself to restart. As if losing my town, my house, villagers and museum wasn't enough, Isabelle is too adorable to disappoint. I'm the mayor, I can't just leave. The pope doesn't just step down (OK besides that one) or start over.
