Starting Fresh...

Hey guys so I just started University and my boyfriend went and broke my 3DSxl... anyway he got me a new one and I'm kind of looking for this to be an excuse to restart all my games saves data from new just because I have been so busy with Uni and have not played my DS too much..

The only problem is that it's going to take so long to get all my bells again and get a big house/catalogue the furniture/get hybrids and I have reset my town so many times getting people to hold things for me so I can just get them back when I reset.

I guess this post is just me thinking out loud really, but does anyone have any suggestions for starting brand new? Any tips on getting bells fast?

I feel excited to start completely fresh because it will give me something to do as acnl got so boring when I had a lot of bells.

I would like to hear if other people have restarted fully and what made them come to that decision! This post is a bit rambly but yeah I'm just thinking out loud!

I think you could fill a character with stuff and have someone hold it for you while you're resetting just to get you started a bit.
Other than that it's a good idea to not cheat too much (don't time travel unless you have to n stuff) because it won't be as fun (unless you think unlocking the shops etc without cheat is boring hehe)

Definitely this. Otherwise, probably the quickest way to make cash is to hunt beetles on the island for a few nights, which probably won't yield a fourth of the results you'd get if you traded TBT. However, I like to do this because it just feels more satisfying to me. For whatever reason. I like to torture myself, I guess.

I very recently restarted because I hated my previous town map. It's been a real struggle, especially since I have to reacquire dreamies and essentials like bush starts and hybrids. It's going to take quite a while to finish the town, but I'm super excited. Good luck with yours!

Hmmm, try selling everything (especially any tier 1 & 2 villagers) on here for TBTs. Once you have TBTs, you can buy other item off of here for you new game once you start fresh.

yeah, make a thread in the tbt marketplace forum or see if someone has a igb for tbt selling service already :> I've done both

I've just started fresh. I first brought the game back in 2013 (?), my dog then chewed up the game card and I've not long repurchased NL along with HHD.

What I did when I first started fresh was time travel for a few days, 1 day at a time to unlock the island/get my house built and then time travel back to the current date. It took me about 10 days whilst travelling to get the fishing rod in Nooklington's .

I've been going to the island and catching sharks or any large fish for bells !

I restarted my town a while back! I'm still searching for the perfect map though But yeah I usually sell my high tier villagers/hybrids/rare furniture for tbt here before I reset so I have some tbt to trade for bells should I ever want to. And I agree with other people have said about not time travelling and I would add that in my expierence plot resetting really killed my enjoyment of starting a new town. As tempting as it is to rush everything and obsess over placement, the most fun I've had starting over the game have been the times when I played the game as it was intended to be played.

If you start with a popular villager, such as Rosie or Stitches, you could probably sell them. If you TT, you could get them out quickly and make some quick cash

Yeah I deffo think I'm going to restart properly. You guys have given good advice! I'm excited to start again... Only issue is just getting all the hybrids and bushes -.-
