Day 2 of the Winter Carnival is over, so it's time to go over the next two contests. So our previous top three is Rosie, Ankha, and Mac. I would like to know what riding a snowmobile is like, but let's move onto skiing.
Next day, the winners of the Snowman Building Contest and Snowmobile Design Contest went back to playing. An advantage of winning is that they get big discounts on riding a ride or playing the carnival games. Caroline and Rosie don't have to pay anymore tickets than 1/4 the original ticket price, but they still have to pay at least 1/4 the price. Marshal and Ankha pay half price to get on the rides or credits at the carnival games. Blaire and Mac both got a 25% discount on all rides and games.
Meanwhile, the birds and deer got in line for the Ski Race Track. Kenny the host opens the gates when he sees the contestants.
"Welcome skiers!" said Kenny, "are you interested into showing your skills? The skiing race is like a normal 3-lap race, but only with skis. But here's the catch. We set up checkpoints all over the course. Blue checkpoints are for the first lap. White checkpoints are for the second lap. And red checkpoints are for the third lap. Do not skip any checkpoints, or you will be disqualified. We also placed numbers on each checkpoint. The earlier you finish all three laps, the higher you will rank. And one more thing. Before you get on the track, get your skiing equipment from the cabin. When all of you do so, the race will begin."
All eight racers went into the cabin. Each of them got different colors. Bam's skis are red, Anchovy's are light blue, Jacques' are dark blue, Bruce's are green, Twiggy's are purple, Fauna's are pink, Fuchsia's are orange, and Robin's are yellow. All got on track with their skis and rods, along with snow goggles. Kenny had to start the race when they got on track.
The overall results weren't so great. Only half of the racers finished the race. Robin, being all desperate about winning, attemped to cheat by cutting across the track. She was automatically disqualified. Jacques was also disqualified. He was confused between lap one and lap two. Although he didn't intend to cheat, he messed up. Twiggy was the third to be disqualified. She tried skiing up on the ice walls on the third lap like everyone else. She slipped off and forfeits the game. Anchovy tried to cut across on the third lap since it was too hard, so he was out.
The three laps had different difficulties as the birds and deer were racing. The first one was a simple, but long roundabout track. It had dunes on the end, but most of all, it was easy. The second lap was an extended track. It required taking an ice bridge as the track across was more hilly than the first lap. The third lap was difficult. The first few segments after the ice bridge was just like the second, but it lead the animals up an icy hill, which was steep. Although one fell off, the others were able to make it. They also went through slanted tracks, ice bridges, tunnels, and even some gaps. But the race ended when they get to the end.
Of the remaining racers, Bam was the only racer that did not make it to the top three. The third one to finish the race was Fuschia. Fauna made it in second place. Bruce was the winner.
Kenny had to hand out the trophies and prizes. Bruce was admitted to the Champion Tournament for Friday. He also got a deluxe ski set to keep, a blue ribbon, and a golden ski trophy. Fauna only got a toy ski race track with action figure skiers. Along with that was a silver ski trophy and a red ribbon. Fuschia was the winner of the bronze ski trophy with a yellow ribbon. Robin apologized for cheating, but Kenny was still disappointed in her.
