I started playing Stardew Valley because I was trying to fill a void. I wanted Nintendo to announce a new AC game so badly. I needed another adorable relaxing life sim to play and it didn't seem as though Nintendo was in any hurry to give it to me. And now that I've logged 111 hours, I find myself not even needing a new Animal Crossing. Have you guys tried SV? If you're itching to fill that void, try it. It's not the same kind of game really, but there's sooo much more to do. I definitely recommend :)

If you have played it, please feel free to show me your farm! I love seeing how everyone designs their little plot of land!

Stardew Valley is more along the lines of Rune Factory but with Harvest Moon's rural charm. Certainly does better than Story of Seasons at continuing Harvest Moon's legacy. I wouldn't really say Stardew replaces Animal Crossing, but having people say, "This is basically what you wouldn't dare be bothered to do in reality," and "How is tilling sand in the dead of winter for root vegetables fun?" is better than idly waiting.

I have Stardew on Steam and my Switch. Back when my PC wasn't garbage and actually recognized my USB mice, I would mod the game for aesthetic improvements and general ease of access. Since consoles traditionally don't allow modding without homebrewing, Switch Stardew has been entirely vanilla, and yet I've managed to get farther than I've ever gotten on PC. Haven't bothered getting past Spring Y2 but I've unlocked Emily's 10 heart event. Completely missed Sam's 3 heart event... oops.

and yeah, i do know that rune factory is literally "a fantasy harvest moon"

I've been considering it, but I'm not totally sure the style appeals to me. It feels so close to RPG Maker that it's difficult to enjoy it as its own thing. I'll keep considering it, though!

I've been playing it, maybe too much because I dunno it felt pretty empty after you did everything you could in one save almost (except some achievements i can't be bothered to do like supporting that jojomart and getting all those fruits) and i couldn't bother t start another. Probably had some updates since I last touched it, but ya.

Oh I'm not saying it can replace the game entirely, only that my love for acnl has been replaced by my love for stardew valley. I was aching for a new AC game for so long but now that I've found SV, I don't need a new animal crossing game anymore (for now at least). It's strange cuz Harvest Moon never interested me to the point of actually getting it, but SV go me hooked and they technically the exact same premise. It must be the art style..

SV is more of a replacement for Harvest Moon for me. I played HM Island of Happiness pretty much non stop when I was younger but with their latest games Story of Seasons and Skytree Village I just couldn't get into it (I actually returned Story of Seasons I disliked it so much and I haven't even gotten past year 1 summer in skytree village)

I love the art and the music of SV, I wish there was a bit more interaction with other characters but otherwise I love this game

Stardew Valley is a fantastic game. I had always wanted to try Harvest Moon series, so I bought Harvest Moon A New Beginning back when it came out. It was pretty fun, but I don't know. Something always felt missing. Stardew Valley is exactly the kind of game I expected Harvest Moon to be, but even better.

I haven't played it in a while, and at this point I'm waiting for the upcoming multiplayer + new stuff patch to come out to get into it again. I might actually consider buying a second copy of Stardew Valley so husband and I can play it together when that patch is out. :)
