On my second town, I am just about broke. I know I can go to the island and all that and believe me I certainly will go tonight. But I thought to myself, maybe I should try the stalk market. The first time I used the stalk market, it turned out great using the forums. The second time around however... Let's just say I was devastated by the lost of a million bells. So yeah, not great experience. Should I gamble again? Or just stick to my bug hunting?

Stick to bug hunting and fishing. Selling turnips has never worked for me, but I made millions fishing and bug catching. You can look up guides for the value of each fish so you don't have to rely on sharks.

Stick to bug hunting. Also, and I don't know if you are into this or not, but the going rate for 50 tbt is 10 million igb. You could always buy bells and have the cushion in the bank.

Island bugs all the way.

  • Decimate your island (leave about four palm trees and nothing else)
  • Visit in the evening
  • ????
  • Profit

I think you should stick to bug hunting and fishing. I'm not that good with the stalk market, but I've made quite a lot of bells with bug and shark catching on the island. :) but it all depends on you want to do really. You can also start a shop here, sell hybrids and such, enter in giveaways, etc to get more IGB bells.

um, you should do bug hunting but seriously try the stalk market...like just plan to sell for 200+ and only buy low...you can make sooooooooooo many bells...nothing compared to the island. just plan to fill your locker and make multiple trips when you sell. lurk the forums on here and on reddit. worst case scenario you do have two towns so you should be able to sell in at least one of them.
if i see a good price in someone else's town i tt to sunday in my town the same day and just plan on selling. that way you don't have to store it and wait all week.

It depend the island is always good in the beginning, it helps build up museum bugs and make money but it can become tedious and also just exhausting everyday so I would say after the first week try some other things, there are a lot of ways to make bells, I didn't realize TBT to IGB had gone that high that is so etching to remember when buying things on here for TBT..but that's an idea but the stalk market could work too there is usually always someone with good pricing so if you see that posted and tt at all I would load up on them and then sell off. I don't use it much but should watch my rates more so I can maybe help others if I am having a high day in one of my towns.

Island? Yay!
Stalk Market? Nay!

I got rich from the island. I like to time travel in small doses, so I rarely buy turnips. I'd be very upset if I hung on to them and couldn't make a profit or, worse, lost Bells.

Don't buy turnips unless you see someone on the forums with high prices. I'll be keeping my 404 price a few more days at least if you'd like to give it a shot. I've made millions this way, and got my gold turnip badge incredibly fast. Just don't buy turnips unless you know for sure you can sell them at a high price.

Lately I've been sticking to the stalk market, but every now and then I'll go to the island.
I used to be really skeptical about the whole turnip front but I usually make a small or massive profit each week, with only buying enough turnips to fill up 1 section (y'know blue, yellow, pink) in my storage. ^_^

Truthfully - I only play the stalk market cause I want to get the badge. And even then I'm not great at it. I bought turnips at 100 bells and then my Re-Tail never went over 60 Bells that week so I made a huge loss.

Stalk market is yeah but only if you're willing to work with other players and possibly tt (to buy from joan when another player has a good price) you can make a small fortune from filling one section of your storage and selling them in a friends town!

I've used the stalk market a bit and made decent enough profits. If you google "stalk market wizard," you'll find a tool that can help you know when to sell. It's not perfect, but it has helped me make enough to pay off a couple of loans.

not bothered with it as im a heavy time traveller. and even if i do, its too much trouble to find a town with high turnip price.
