Note that it's for the first 14 weeks of each game's sales. Splatoon still hasn't overtaken Smash overall. Still, it's really something.

I've been hearing such unfortunate news. But before the latest update I rarely ever noticed any lag.

Most of the lag I've experiences is actually with other NA players, so I never really got this Japan fear, haha.

Noice! Though I also always lag with Japanese players... I almost wish they had a regional & worldwide option so I wouldn't have so many issues when I just want to play a quick game.

Not very surprising. Japan prefers handheld games over consoles, so the 3DS version of Sm4sh is the version most people there bought/play. Also since the 3DS version came out first, most people didn't really want the Wii U version.

Still pretty impressive though.

I'd have to agree. If Splatoon was released for 3DS same time it was for Wii U I have a feeling its sales wouldn't have topped Smash Bros for the 14 week interval....

Well I don't know about that since Splatoon is an online-focused game. Most people choose the 3DS version for portability, but you can't play an online game when you're on-the-go.
If Sm4sh was only made for the Wii U and the 3DS version didn't exist, then Sm4sh would outsell Splatoon.

I agree with you. Smash is really fun to play both online and offline. Even though Splatoon has fun online as well, it doesn't have much offline content.

I concur. Smash Brothers for the Wii U and 3DS is much more fun to play than Splatoon...
