Most points and if there's a tie by anychance it will determine who has the most kills.
Well, are there 8 people on now who'd want to do it? The only problem with points is that if one team completely dominates, they'll end up with less points because there won't be any ink to cover, and if one team gets completely destroyed somebody could potentially sneak out and cover a bunch of ink on their own which would give them a lead because they have the entire map to cover.
True but teams change a LOT tho.
I would join up 'just because', though I can't think of a way that it would be at all fair without an actual in game 'free for all' mode.

True, but I think it could end up feeling like your lack of points wasn't your fault.
"I didn't get enough points because I got stuck on the dominating team! I hate you all, why couldn't you have sucked!?"
Though I guess I do want this to happen just so somebody will legitimately say that xD Make it happen! My new ambition is to see somebody get mad because their team was good!

I think should be by how many KO's we get. There is too many issues with covering ink to do a free for all tournament. It also kinda limits which weapons you would use. Nobody would be using chargers at all.

^ Actually, this works. I don't know why I totally forgot about kills being a thing...
Could even make the scoring: Kills-deaths=score. It would be more skill based that way. I mean, 15 kills isn't that impressive if you died 14 times getting them.

But basing matches on KO's give chargers huge advantages since that's the thing chargers are meant to do - get KO's. Chargers will dominate, especially if skilled players use them. (And I know there's several skilled aimers here). Rollers would be ****ed. Idk maybe I'm not taking other scenarios into consideration but it seems one sided.
Thing about chargers is that you can easily sneak up on them from behind with shooters or rollers. It'd probably be harder with rollers, but sneaking through with teammate's ink might be the trick to get multiple KOs within a few seconds. Guess that's the trade off.
I use chargers frequently, and I know the can easily be taken out. Even for skilled charger users such as tao, I don't find him all that difficult to take out if im paying attention, no offence. I would say instead of making charges op it actually just gives them a chance.

Besides that, we need someone to be taking out those pesky aerosprays!
What weapon do you use? It's impossible to get to Tao on a stage like Blackbelly Skatepark with a roller or short range shooter, except if there's other teammates around... Or maybe I'm just a **** poor player, lol
I suppose I should partipate in this before I make any judgements, so disregard what I've said. I'm for it to see how it goes~

What if the tourney was based off kills. Well that can work as well but there has to be a ratio for example.
Lets just say you had 14 kills and died once = You have a ratio of 13.
Having how many times you got splatted would play a big role.
Just throwing out thoughts of having a future splatoon tourney
