The problem with the tournament is that, if the past tournaments are anything to go by, they require a large amount of people to make a decent sized bracket. In this case, all 8 members would have to be online at the same time to have their match, and in the other tournaments most people never showed up. Although, there's also the fact that most people who signed up in past tourneys only showed up for a day and then disappeared. The benefit with Splatoon is that a good chunk of people (I counted 24) are active and do post on the boards frequently, so I don't think activity would be too much of an issue. Only thing is the wait of actually getting the mode and if people would still be interested.

As far as I'm aware, that's what does happen everywhere.
When I did my GCSE's we didn't have to go to that specific class after we had done our exam for it. It would be pointless to since you've nothing else to really learn (obviously there's more to learn, but you get what I mean).
What would the best way to have a tournament even be?
As far as I know, 8 player friend lobbies will only allow random teams rather than picking who's in which team. Pretty much like lobbies we have now but without the risk of randomers joining.
Teams of 4 vs other teams will only let you fight random teams, rather than (for example) organizing team Tao vs team ZigZag.
I hope and feel like I'm wrong since it would be a lame system, but that's what I remember seeing in a direct video mentioning it. Unless of course I understood it wrong (I feel I have understood it wrong since it sounds silly).

In NA, they're "Booyah!" and "C'mon!" But I really wish there was a Help button, it would help. Also a stay away one if there's a ton of enemies near you or something.

Well apparently (I also looked it up and it seems other people said the same thing) there might be an update that would allow you to play as a team with your friends (meaning you could choose the team) and go against other people, which would technically open up the possibility of tournaments here if people were interested. If that does happen though

No wonder sometimes people follow me instead of covering another needed path lmao. When I say "C'mon" in NA, I don't mean to go to me. Unless I've mistaken "To me!" ? ( sounds like you want them to jump to you/follow)
But an actual option for "Careful" in case you know an enemy is in ink or where you are, so ppl dont squid jump into danger or run in and get splatted would be nice. Also an actual help me one would be great too!

Um, isn't the 4v4 update the thing they're talking about releasing in August? I need to rewatch the direct.
This one would also be good for warning of mines since I have a powerup so I can see them. There's been so many times where I've watched a team member walk to their doom whilst all I could do is shoot at it and hope it explodes before they do.

If I'm at base though, I look at my map and if I see enemy ink moving on the map by the person I'm going to jump to, I normally try not to jump there unless they're not that close. There's a high chance that the enemy will keep shooting at your spawn area until you die & can't do anything. (and your teammate is either dead or ran away)
But if they seem far enough, I go in and hopefully help my team-
Basically I've seen everyone else jump to me and die. >u<

In NA there's "C'mon!" and "Boo-yah!" which tbh aren't helpful lol. They should add "Look out!" and "Help me!" for obvious reasons.

Passionately hate Saltspray on Ranked... But I still have yet to play port mackerel on Ranked and it's paired them together and refuses to send me there. D: So many points lost....
Also hate how many B rank players it keeps sticking me with, these people are clearly better than me who keeps falling back into C+

Right?.. I just use C'mon as a let's hurry if we're falling behind type thing and only use boo-yah if something amazing happens.
Surprised they didn't think of adding the more helpful ones that can alert your team.
That dang NA commercial makes everyone write/draw "Not sure if squid or kid?" everywhere. So ofc I get reminded every time I'm on about it. very annoying

I won a few games in a row and then lost a few which basically put me back where I started. I wish the box was a tad bigger though, cause all the maps feel annoying to me when it's just a tiny box ;u; Not enjoying ranked yet lmao. I'm thinking it'd be better if I started using jet squelcher for ranked.

Yeah, I seem to roughly go ~4 good matches, and then ~4 bad ones. I feel like B+/A- should be the point where you get even points for wins and losses, not C+/B- barely anyone will get to see A- rank if the wins keep giving less and less points.
This is the only reason I reached B-, somehow I got 8 wins in a row, and then I crashed and burnt utterly from there. xD

Ranked is so annoying because there's always a match where the other team has total control of everything and you can't even leave your respawn area without getting splatted let alone take over a zone.
Ours has this extremely annoying song omg I have to change the channel so I don't listen to it
