I've had that a few times. Just try joining somebody else, or going in a random game for a few matches.

Yea, I'm assuming that the canister thing was just to get people hyped and so they know Ranked isn't far away. I don't think they expected the game to kick off so quickly though and so many people to hit level 10 so soon.

I've seen a few random female squids in Inkopolis wearing the Samurai boots, so I assume the entire outfit is gender neutral like everything else.

I'm kinda wondering whether or not the guy wears a skirt though. I've not seen any male characters with that costume yet :/

Ranked battle includes the new Splat Zone game mode. It's kind of like King of the Hill in other shooter games. You control a "splat zone" for points.

Would the demo version work right now? I never tried the game yet and I am curious about the hype around this game.
 
There's also two other modes, Tower Control and Rainmaker (this one there's no info on), all 3 of which are exclusive to Ranked Battles, so yeah, probably the reason lots of people want them unlocked. :P

Although only Splat Zone will be available to start (which makes me realize like 50% of the game has been locked until months from release).

It'll have both turf wars and Splat zones at first I believe.
I'm hoping splat zones unlocks for the regular online too though.

Well there's x amount of weapons still to come, 9 stages when we only have 5, and 3 more modes when we only have 1. So Pree sure we have less than 50% of the game contents. D: Though tbf (atleast in the uk) it was selling much cheaper than you'd expect from a new nintendo IP.

So far Ranked Battles have 3 exclusive modes (only one of which will be unlocked from the start (Splat Zone)), athlough we won't know if they'll also be brought to Regular.
