Splatoon Splatoon General Discussion (HYPE THREAD)

Omg omg omg

My friend just preordered the game and omg. ALL SUMMER IM GONNA GET TO PLAY THIS!! :D

I didn't think he would get it. Now I know I can convince him to do anything if I really tried xD

Woah, I think I actually landed with players that are actually tough to beat. Most of them had Splattershot Jr. and their use of shield is so effective that they caused me a lot of trouble. And they're also very laggy, which lead me to many stupid deaths. I've seen one that actually scaled a pipe wall on Saltspray Rig that I thought it was there for decoration. At two occasions, we couldn't go to a large chunk of the stage's area, even though I did contribute a lot on my team!

Have you encountered any tough players yet?

I had the Splatshot Jr and at one point killed the entire team in seconds on Saltspray Rig with help from the shield because they were kinda bunched up together so easy to kill...I also climbed the pipes a few times...Maybe it was me xD

I didn't seem to see any noticeably tougher players though. It seemed like a lot of people just didn't use their specials at all and a majority of those that did screwed it up. Plus I noticed a lot of people would try to hide in the ink when in danger but they wouldn't actually attempt to move away, as though simply being in their ink is good enough to protect them.

I keep getting confused to what is and isn't decoration though. I'm sure it won't be an issue once I've got it and played it a bit more, but I kept just spraying and praying everything as I'm running around to see what can and can't be painted.

I'm debating if I should get this game. Is the game going to die once the hype runs out since it's pretty much all multiplayer?

I think the game will have a life span of a few years at the least. Theres heaps of different things you can do in multiplayer: customising, trying different weapons, different strategies. There are tons of people who play splatoon just going by the demo. It took less than 30 seconds to find a match during the testfire every time. Plus theres the story mode which looks pretty good too, and apparently lasts for 7-8 hours all together. I'm getting it they day of release sooo... :D

Yeah, it has tons of content. But I doubt that most people will still play it when LoZ and Star Fox realeses. I'll probably get it cuz I enjoyed the testfire, but I still doubt this game when it comes to lifespan :/

Well I actually went to bed when they extended it for an extra hour. Though when it was down, I did spend all my hour in the tutorial to get used to the splattershot, so I'd say I can do the singleplayer just fine now.

As for multiplayer.... I may still end up using the roller mostly because I don't really set out to kill. I just wait for areas no one is around and clean that up. XD I'm a background person really XDDDD Though maybe with a bit more practice with the splattershot, I can get into the main fling of the game XD

Still, I'm happy with the game and I can't wait for the release next Friday. What's everyone's plan for the first day? My plan is to spend half of it on multiplayer to get my rank up and the other half on single player so I can get to the amiibo missions.

Im getting it the day it comes out too in the morning. I am aiming to get to level 10 by the end of the day which I think is pretty reasonable although thats probably what most people will be doing. Thats good I guess so that splat zones will open quicker :p

That's my plan too. Hopefully I can get to level 10 :D

okay guys

you know the thing at the top where it has the squid color vs the other squid color?? the squids that are bigger means that they have more turf

has no one ever noticed that every video i watch of this game, no one points it out

Do it! And if you do, there's also plenty of other WiiU games to enjoy.

The remodeling of my room's floor is almost complete, but because it wasn't finished in time, I ended up not having a television to play the test fire in. My brother played in the living room though, and it was pretty fun to watch.

I know, I noticed this but no one seems to point it out for some reason

I can't wait for them to patch white ink in this game ( ͡? ͜ʖ ͡?)

But also can I just praise this game's soundtrack for a second? It's really varied and always appropriate for the situations certain songs are played in. And one of the Turf War background music tracks is the first time in a while that I've heard hard rock music in a Nintendo game (aside from Smash Bros). And it fits perfectly, like it captures the Inklings' vibe of grungy adolescence really well. The whole thing is just really cool.

I have to totally agree with you. As a fan of Rock myself I am pretty biased, but it's nice to see Rock music in a Nintendo game. Not only that but it also suits the game to a T.

I actually really like the soundtrack. There's one song on there that sounds pretty metal (pretty tame metal, but still!).

I would like to see it get a soundtrack release. I mean, Nintendo has released stuff like the Mario 3D World soundtrack which is mostly just repetitive loops, so I don't see why not since this actually does have some unique sounding stuff on it.

Then again, that truly is wishful thinking. They're usually reluctant to release soundtracks...Still waiting for a damn Hyrule Warriors one...
