Speedrunning is a very guilty pleasure of mine. It's so interesting and cool to see games be broken in so many ways or beaten in a time you never thought were possible.
Of course, I wouldn't be so interested in it if there weren't any personalities to the people who run these games. My favorite speedrunners are probably Werster, TriHex and RWhiteGoose.
It's also a community that has a lot of "cringe moments" be it in GDQ or in their homes raging about missing that frame-perfect walljump. It's also something to ponder about with people trying to get the fastest time for such a long time for a game that's particularly outdated and a decade or two old. (like GoldenEye).
To you, what is speedrunning? Is it something that interests you or is it a worthless, unhealthy hobby?
