Special themed villagers

With the Welcome Amiibo update, we got a bunch of villagers which have
special themes, such as Splatoon themed, The Legend of Zelda themed,
Splatoon themed or Sanrio themed. They also brought lots of items based
of their themes.

Now I would like to know if you like such special themed villagers and if you
want more of such villagers. What kind of themed villager did you missed in
New Leaf and would like to see in a future AC game? Or are you not so a big
fan of them?

I really like such themed villagers, I find the idea behind it pretty cool. It's
also great that they comes with lots of special items which give you more
options to decorate your house and dress up your character(s) completely
new. I would like to see more of these themed villagers and I kinda hope
that they will be Mario and Pokemon themed villagers, which also have
corresponding items. More Sanrio themed villagers would be also nice,
like a Kuromi, Chococat or Sugarbunnies themed villager.

I wish I could have Medli, Wolf Link, and a bunch of themed villagers. They're cute. Unfortunately, I am poor, and I can't really afford any of them, and I get all my rare amiibo furniture out of trades.

I'd like to see Animal Crossing villagers based on characters from Star Fox and Kirby.Maybe a Slippy Toad themed frog villager or a Kirby themed hamster.

Also, I do like Medli and Epona. They’re probably my favorite “themed” villagers.

I like those special themed villager and yes, more of them would be really cool! Some Pokemon
Star Fox themed villagers would be really nice.

I just want fox and raccoon normal villagers.
I find the branded stuff more gimicky and less authentic. But I don't mind the special characters or anything. I think the Sanrio ones are super cute.

Honestly, I really don't like them. I like Zelda but I don't want Medli or Epona to live in my town. I like villagers that sort of remind me of something else but when the villager is literally that thing, I don't like it. I get some people like them and I'm glad they do. Since they only move through amiibo cards, they really don't affect me in any way.

My town is Game of Thrones/forest themed, and Epona and Felyne both fit in well.

I've never played Zelda, I just think horses, wolves and cattle go perfectly with my theme.

I agree with the others who are saying the themed villagers feel kinda gimmicky. Especially the names. I wouldn't be able to take my game seriously if I had Medli, or worse: Wolf Link, living in my town tbh. Felyne's about the only one I don't hate and that's because felynes are a species, not a specific character.

I feel like the Sanrio villagers are a bit more subtle, especially ?toile. They're regular villagers that just like Sanrio stuff.
