Spam attacks

I noticed that recently, there were many spam attacks on this site. If I can remember, we had like seven or more spam attacks from different spambots this whole month. Usually, we see like one once in a while, but this time, there were many. What happened? Has the security been outdated, or is this site getting more attention?

I know! I was online the night they all attacked. I remember they clogged up the Brewster’s cafe, and hhd boards by posting phone numbers for so called “marriage problems” and “love” and it was weird. Thankfully I haven’t see one in a few days.

Yeah I noticed that too. There were like "love solution" threads lmao and I also saw "the nun movie watch online" like wtf.

I know! I was online the night they all attacked. I remember they clogged up the Brewster’s cafe, and hhd boards by posting phone numbers for so called “marriage problems” and “love” and it was weird. Thankfully I haven’t see one in a few days.

It’s not just all night. It’s all month, at least since the Nintendo Direct.

Besides the obvious spam, they're pretty harmless. Their posts are pretty... ineligible. And they also seem to always post in an extremely inactive part of the forums. Simply report and wait for Jake to give them their divine punishment.

Edit: I should note that none of you should CALL these numbers. They lead to scam lines that WILL steal your information and record your voice to be put into audio editing software to legally bind you to their scams.

The worst spam attack this site ever got was in 2015, when one spambot created so many spam threads in the ACNL board. Like 388 spam threads.

Wanna know how I feel when someone spams a forum like that? It feels like a bunch of insects are crawling over me. Like roaches or flies covering me.

I noticed it this morning as I had a late night, and the switch and nl boards were clogged with 2 different spam accounts, it was really annoying to see

Wanna know how I feel when someone spams a forum like that? It feels like a bunch of insects are crawling over me. Like roaches or flies covering me.

I think my favorite spam attack was the time myself and Ashtot decided to mass bump old threads back in 2010. It was glorious. The best part was a random user who we didn't know named Osama Bin Laden joined the forums at the same time and joined in on the fun.
